Rachel Legan

Rachel Legan is truly a hometown girl. While she has lived in over 30 different homes in her life, they have all been within the Bakersfield city limits. She was born here in 1974 and still does not have any plans to leave. Rachel was hired to read news on 101.5 KGFM in 1993. Fresh out of West high school she had always planned on having a career in broadcasting and was thrilled to be given the opportunity at KGFM. Little did she know at the time that she would fall in love with her part time on air job and make it into a full fledged career. You may even recognize her on the street as "that girl in all those local t.v. infomercials". When she and Dustin are not on the air or spending time at local events it may surprise you that Rachel is really a homebody. "My favorite thing to do when I get off the air is go home and do a six mile run on my treadmill, while watching Young and the Restless, I'm a bit obsessive compulsive about it, just ask Dustin and my boss". Rachel also enjoys reading novels and writing her column for the Northwestvoice newspaper and Northwestvoice.com.
Rachel has been married to her husband Jake since 2002 and has a step-daughter named Kylee who she says is the "light of her life". While she and Jake are hoping to have children together soon Rachel says if it's not meant to be she is more than fulfilled with the incredible relationship she has with Kylee adding "I cannot imagine my life without her in it".
